I have been using Hoffman’s since 2000. Back then I was introduced to Hoffman’s Minerals, which at the time, was their only product. My horses always thrived on it and I felt it gave them everything they needed to supplement their feed.
In 2006 Hoffmans introduced their Performance Mineral and Hoffman’s Horse Ration. Then in 2016, they launched a whole line of grains as a complete range.
We moved from Alberta to New Brunswick in 2014 and I was upset when I discovered Hoffman’s Feed was not available anywhere in the Province and the nearest place to get it was 4 and a half hours away.
My partner Marc traveled back to Alberta with work and I would beg him to get me their minerals every trip. He would faithfully fly back with a bag or two but it wasn’t enough for our barn of 23 horses.
I finally decided to contact Hoffman’s and beg them to find a distributor in my area and they sent out their nutritionist to talk to stores I recommended. Alas to no avail.
I was so desperate to have Hoffman’s feeds in the barn, the company eventually agreed to allow me to become a distributor in order to have it myself. BINGO!
About Hoffman’s

Our Horses On Hoffman’s
Before we became the local distributor for Hoffman’s Feeds our feed room at the barn looked like a science lab’. There was rice bran, black sunflower seeds, weight gain supplements, beet pulp, the usual grains, and oils. Most did well on our feed but it was a complicated process with each horse on a very different plan and there was still the odd horse that had weight or topline issues despite everything. Not only that horses were having to have large quantities of feed and it was costing a fortune.
Getting Hoffman’s into the barn was the best thing we did. The makeup of the feed meant each horse was getting exactly what it needed in a smaller amount of grain and we could get rid of all the extras. The horses flourished and they all gained muscle, condition, coat shine, and those working properly developed fantastic toplines. Horses with ulcer issues seemed to have healthier guts and even though Hoffman’s is not a cheap feed we were spending less on feed because we were feeding the right content and achieving better results.
All my clients were super happy because they noticed the difference in their horses within no time at all.
We have the Hoffman’s nutritionist visit the barn twice a year and she assesses each horse to determine if we need to make changes based on the horses' exercise program increasing or decreasing, or whether things have changed in its overall needs. At this point, we get to tweak what we are doing or leave it the way it is.
THIS IS THE ONLY FEED COMPANY I KNOW THAT DOES THIS!!
Best of all is that Hoffman’s is a Canadian company.
